Events of the Imams and Rabbis Council of the United Kingdom

The Imams and Rabbis Council of the United Kingdom will be contributing to a major international conference in May 2012 in Washington, DC, on "Religion and Violence", built in partnership with the Christian Muslim Council, the Barnabas Fund and United States Defence establishment. The Council holds two national Councils each year in the UK Parliament for senior rabbis, imams and Jewish and Muslim academics, and during Inter Faith Week 2012 will be holding a major international meeting for our worldwide Jewish-Muslim partners in the World Congress for Jewish Muslim Co-operation, as well as expanding our network of mosques and synagogues involved in our "Open Jum'ah and "Open Shabbat" programmes as part of the Mosque and Synagogue Twinning project of our American partners, the FFEU more ...

The Imams and Rabbis Council of the United Kingdom has been a major contributor to the national Inter Faith Week and the Limmud Conference in the UK and USA. In 2010 and 2011, the Council held major events for rabbis, imams and clergy during Inter Faith Week in the House of Lords, Scriptural Reasoning at Oxford University and workshops on "Countering Violent Extremism" in partnership with the Community Security Trust and police. The first national days of "Open Jum'ah" and "Open Shabbat" were held by us in mosques and synagogues around the UK during Inter Faith Week 2011.
